He later coached an extraordinary succession of great running backs including Eric Dickerson, Craig James and Emmitt Smith. Jordan talks the SMU Pony Express days, coming back to Clemson when things were turning sour under Ken Hatfield, and how Dabo Swinney has built one of the foremost powerhouses in college football. Shaka Smart, fourth-year basketball coach at Texas, sits down for an extended interview to reminisce about the days at Clemson when he was an assistant for Oliver Purnell and Dabo Swinney was a receivers coach for Tommy Bowden.
