Before there was SuperPrep and Tom Lemming, long before there were large numbers of reporters covering recruiting 365 days a year, Phil Kornblut found that fans of Clemson and South Carolina couldn't get enough of hearing the latest on high school football prospects. Kornblut joins The Dubcast to talk the origins of recruiting coverage, how he adapted to fierce competition for information that he once had all to himself -- and, most recently, how he handled the news that his long-running show on the South Carolina Radio Network was no more. Kornblut also shares stories about squabbles with coaches from both sides, and how he handles accusations that he's a Gamecock fan (by Clemson fans) and a Tiger fan (by South Carolina fans).
